It's nearly time for many of us to head off for a few extra days. A big thanks to our amazing production team who will continue to print, bind and pack over the long weekend to ensure we continue to meet our customers' deadlines. Have a safe and happy Easter everyone.
What smell do you associate with Easter? Chocolate maybe?? Imagine receiving an Easter catalogue that not only tempts your taste buds visually, but also smells like chocolate Easter eggs?!!?
Well, it can be done. Scented inks have been around for a while and are more commonly used today in cosmetic and perfume advertising. Given that the human sense of smell is our strongest and most primal, they’re a great way to engage multiple senses and trigger a powerful emotional connection to your product. The applications are endless. Think florists and fresh flowers, restaurants and delicious food, or travel companies and the smell of the ocean.
How does it work? Fragrant oils are microencapsulated (surrounded by a coating) and mixed into the printing ink. The scent capsules are broken and activated when rubbed.
Enjoying the things we see every day, as our ink pumping system tirelessly does its job. Printcraft goes through around 4,500 kilos of premium, soy based ink every month, and produces 99% of our work out of four process colours - cyan, magenta, yellow and black. It still amazes me that these four colours alone can make the rainbow of images we see in books and magazines.
Look at what we found at the end of the #rainbow this morning. Hopefully there's a #potofgold too! Thanks to our photographers in dispatch, working hard before many of us were even in the office. After the rain in beautiful #queensland
